Time and time again, many have been proclaiming the death of print books but the latest statistics on the sales number for the year of 2017 says otherwise.
According to Publisher’s Weekly, print book sales have risen 1.8% in 2017 compared to the sales numbers from 2016. Further proving that print is long from dead, when comparing the numbers from 2013, the sales numbers have actually risen 10.8%.
However, despite this slight gain, holiday sales for Barnes & Noble were disappointing and underwhelming. Hopefully the experimental changes B&N is implementing in some of their locations, such as incorporating restaurants and minimizing the size of their stores, will help them find success.
